This is the poster for the upcoming 'Fragments' Exhibition at Oriel Bach in Swansea.

My paper sculpture has been accepted into thw Amateras Paper Art Festival. This means that I am now officially an 'International Artist'!

The Spanish Barn has a relaxing and calming atmosphere but when I first entered the space I wasn't prepared for how big it was going to be! There was definately a challenge trying to figure out how the plastic would work successfully. The high beams  were eye catching and I wanted the plastic to be as close to this as possible.
With lots of plastic, scaffolding and fishing wire, this was the final piece. The exhibition space has the main lights off and lots of spotlights, which allows the plastic to glow.

I have been selected to do an installation as part of the 'Affirmation' exhibition at The Spanish Barn, Torre Abbey in Torquay.
Exhibition dates are 31st March - 15th April.
Photos will be up soon.

Amateras annual mini paper art exhibition 2012 in Bulgaria has selected 102 participants from 29 countries with 170 works and my 'Untitled' (Yellow) is one of them.

Following on from Back to Basics, I made some smaller versions of my wallpaper sculptures. These were no bigger than a £20 note. They were accepted into the Miniatures Exhibition at Cupola Contemporary Art Gallery in Sheffield.

I haven't come across any new spaces since 'Strange Things Happen' Exhibition in November and was itching to make some new work. Spaces are important for creating installations.
The easiest thing for me to do was to go back to making paper sculptures. It has been a while since I have used paper and it was extremely refreshing to use the process of wetting the paper and forming the abstract shapes. I started with plain a4 paper, but then had a brainwave. Why not use wallpaper samples that already have the pattern? I didn't try this originally because I wanted to keep it as minimal as possible or stick to the primary colours.
Wallpaper has a very thick texture and it struggled to hold form, so with a little help from a hairdryer they became stronger. This pink was has the qualities of cloth, which is what I loved about the material, you can never be sure of what you are looking at.
